Get ready with the British actress
The charming Simone Ashley – best known for portraying leading lady Kate in the period drama Bridgerton – has been busy learning about beauty, she tells us, “the more I’m travelling, the more I’m working, and the more I’m introduced to different products”. The British actress is walking Harper’s Bazaar through her morning routine, from her face and body skincare to her hair styling and scenting ritual. “I would wash my face with hand soap, and just use hand cream,” she shares in her ‘My everyday beauty’ video above “– which is not great, but it worked for me at the time”.
Today, however, she has a “really simple”, while clearly effective, skincare strategy involving La Mer’s The Treatment Lotion (a preliminary step that works to prepare, nourish and refresh the skin) and the brand’s Crème de la Mer (the iconic ultra-rich moisturiser which soothes and rejuvenates). To set this, and to feel “refreshed throughout the day”, Ashley likes to spitz her skin using the glow-enhancing Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Chamomile And Lavender. But her skincare doesn’t stop at the neck; she employs the Glossier Body Hero – which she discovered on set – to quench her limbs and make her collarbones appear “nice and highlighted”.
Showing her hair when “90 per cent dry” Ashley explains how she applies her leave-in conditioner, the Oribe Supershine Moisturising Cream, when stepping out of the shower, followed by Oribe’s Curl Gloss which she applies after diffusing hair hair, or air-drying it in this case. The star also shares useful tips and style ideas for her fellow curly haired community, which will no doubt inspire many of us to rediscover ’00s-staple butterfly clips.
In terms of cosmetics, when off-duty Ashley only uses lip gloss – her favourite being the Hard Candy Glosstopia Ultimate Lip Shine which she explains makes her feel as “glossy” as it looks. She has ambitions to incorporate lip liner, too, Ashley adds in the video. “I want to become a pro at lining my lips” she says of the technique that “makes your lips look so full and sexy”.
But it’s clear that her biggest passion is perfume. “I’ve literally got every perfume under the sun!” she beams, explaining rose-focussed compositions are her favourites, though she also enjoys male-leaning scents citing Bleu de Chanel in particular, and Le Labo in general. Her favourite fragrance, which she applies on camera, is the Ralli eau de parfum by Nakuna Helsinki, a cocktail of tangy rose oud wood and sweet amber.
